What do the IP68 and IP65 protection classes mean?

IP protection classes determine the impermeability of products against the ingress of solid objects, dust and water in accordance with the international standard IEC / EN 60529.

  • The abbreviation IP stands for International Protection.
  • The first digit indicates the degree of protection against dust, solid objects and contact.
  • The second digit indicates the resistance to the ingress of water.

In this configuration, TORMAX swing door and sliding door operators fulfil the criteria of protection classes IP65 and IP68, as extensive tests by an independent testing institute have confirmed. They are proven to be corrosion-free, dust and waterproof.

TORMAX T1 Swing door systems

The standard version of the TORMAX T1 Series swing door systems can be adapted to a wide range of situations, from new installations to retrofits. Built into a corrosion-resistant IP68 stainless steel housing, this swing door drive stands the test of time even in the most demanding operating areas.

TORMAX T2 sliding door systems

The TORMAX T2 Series sliding door systems are functional and convenient to use both indoors and outdoors. They offer easy access without any door contact and are suitable wherever there is sufficient space at the side. The door system is exceptionally smooth-running and durable; it guarantees reliable operation even in harsh conditions.

TORMAX offers four different drives in IP65/68 design for sliding door systems, with the most powerful motor operating doors weighing up to 450 kg.
